St Nicholas Early Education provides high quality care and education for children aged eight weeks to five years. We caught up with the team to find out the behind the scenes of the centres.
What year did St Nicholas first open your doors and what location did your business first establish?
In 2016, St Nicholas Early Education opened its first two centres in Singleton and Newcastle West, and the response in those communities was overwhelmingly positive. Since then, we have expanded to 11 centres including Maitland, Chisholm, Lochinvar, and Gillieston Heights in the Maitland area.
What is the story behind starting the business?
St Nicholas was born out of a commitment to supporting and partnering with families to nurture and inspire children aged 0-5 develop the skills to thrive at home, at school, and in society. In their five years of service, St Nicholas has grown significantly, now providing high quality education and care to more than 2,000 children across 11 early education centres throughout the Hunter. St Nicholas has also expanded their service offering to include out of school hours care (St Nicholas OOSH) and vocational education (St Nicholas Pathways).
What is unique about St Nicholas Early Education centres?Â
All St Nicholas centres offer clean, safe, stimulating, and inclusive indoor and outdoor environments designed to enhance children’s learning through the provision of wondrous natural and man-made materials. St Nicholas centres also offer extended opening hours, in line with our commitment to supporting working families.
For a new Mum or Dad moving to the area, what is your advice to securing a place at a St Nicholas Early Education centre?
It is important to begin thinking about your care options before you need them, including the days and hours you might need care for. Once you have an idea, get in contact with your local St Nicholas centre and arrange a tour. If you’re happy with the centre (and we’re certain you will be), be sure to put your name down as early as possible to secure your child’s place.
Lastly, what do you love most about trading out of your Gillieston Heights location?
St Nicholas Early Education Gillieston Heights is a state-of-the-art centre with environments that allow for free play in a natural setting designed to encourage exploration and discovery. What our families and educators love most is that our Gillieston Heights centre is led by a team of warm, dedicated, and highly-qualified educators.
